Teacher Stats Dashboard: A tool that allows teachers to visualize their impact on their classrooms through engaging, gamified elements. This dashboard not only motivates teachers to post more projects but also serves as a platform for fundraising, helping them track their progress and increase support for their classroom needs.
The challenge:
Teachers take great pride in their DonorsChoose projects and often fundraise creatively—printing links, sharing URLs, and using built-in tools. However, these methods were time-consuming, and there was no central location for teachers to easily track and visualize their impact on their classrooms.
The only existing tool was a basic dashboard to view their projects and actions, which lacked a comprehensive overview of their progress and impact.
The solution:
After interviewing teachers to understand their goals and what information would be most helpful, we introduced the Teacher Stats Dashboard. This page highlights their lifetime impact, total funds raised, and incorporates a badge system to encourage new ways of engaging with the site.
It also makes sharing projects more enjoyable and rewarding, offering teachers a fun, gamified experience to celebrate their accomplishments.
Each teacher’s level reflects their tenure, with experienced educators earning Gold status, while all teachers gain access to lifetime metrics that showcase their impact. To further encourage engagement, we introduced fun badges that teachers could take pride in.
This not only motivated them to interact more with the site, but also led to a 23% increase in overall engagement and a boost in project funding rates!
